Masada

The top of the mountain is where they went
They tried to be free so they could worship
The Jews of that time had been called rebels
Sitting on top of the mountain throwing down large pebbles

So they climbed to a place where they couldnt be tortured
And hid for months while the Romans nurtured
The way of life they thought was right
But the Jews werent going to surrender that night

They would rather die then be taken captive
After years in Egypt the were free and adaptive
To a new way of life where they can be
A religion that inspired the religious tree

Jews must love Muslims and Christians
Because we are all a part of the same mission
When the Romans got to the top of Masada
It where they found the people of the hagada

The people died so they wouldnt be slaves again
They thought suicide would bring them enlightenment or Zen
The Jews of Masada died on that ground
The Romans got to the top and didnt hear a sound

They looked around and this is what they saw
All these people who took their lives
Instead of believing in a draw and when they did the war was over
Now they are protecting me being my angel on my shoulder

They hold a place in my heart but makes me upset
What a dreadful event that I will never forget
Peace is the way for us to be free
And if you dont believe then you should leave
